As implied by the name, thermal power plants use a huge amount of thermal energy to produce electricity. Many types of heat exchangers are used to improve the thermodynamic gain of the plant, to cool down some equipment or even to recover heat on flue gas. Heat exchangers have to be reliable and efficient as they are critical for the smooth running of the thermal power plant.
